Vincent J. Lumenello
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather

LOWELL Vincent J. Lumenello, 87, of Lowell, died Thursday, January 6, 2011, at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Michaelina ‘Micky’ (Cirasella) Lumenello with whom he celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this past April.
Born June 6, 1923, in North Andover, he was a son of the late Vincent J. Lumenello and the late Lena (Guiliano) Lumenello who died when Vincent was six years old. At the age of twelve, he was blessed with his second mother, Bessie (Bernardini) Lumenello and moved to Lowell.
Vincent attended St. Peter’s Parochial Grammar School and graduated from Keith Academy, Class of 1942. He served with the United States Army during World War II, and was stationed in Normandy. He receive the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Lowell, and attended Northeastern University.
He made his home in Lowell and was a member of the former St. Peter’s Parish, and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Vinnie’s favorite past time was magic and he also taught magic at Northern Essex Community College. He was a member of the Society of American Magicians, Assembly #9, of which he was a past president. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle, when he wasn’t enjoying time spent with his family, he also enjoyed reading.
Mr. Lumenello worked as an industrial engineer at the former Western Electric and retired in 1988 from AT&T after over 30 years of service. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his wife, Micky, he is survived by his sons, Michael D. Lumenello and his wife, Maria (Theokas), of Lowell, Kevin R. Lumenello and his wife, Therese (Lapitino), of Derry, NH, and Christopher Lumenello of Lowell and his former wife, Laura Rose, of Ogunquit, ME; his dear sister in law, Emma Fried of Lowell; 8 grandchildren, Andrea Larkin and her husband, Steven, of Canton, Jason Lumenello and his wife, Jennifer, of Lowell, Stephanie Taylor and her husband, Frank, of Hudson, NH, Alyson Lumenello of Fitchburg, Christina Lumenello of Marlborough, PFC Nicholas Lumenello serving with the United States Army stationed in Afghanistan, and Kevin Lumenello and Alexander Lumenello both of Ogunquit, ME; 8 great grandchildren, Anthony Larkin, Nicholas Larkin, Christopher Larkin and Ava Larkin, Emily Lumenello, Olivia Lumenello and Vivian Taylor and Matthew Taylor; as well as many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, and many, many friends.
He was also the grandfather of the late Matthew Lumenello and the late Christian Lumenello, and brother of the late Robert Lumenello, and the late Kenneth Lumenello, brother in law of the late Cathleen Perrault, the late Josephine Ouellette, the late Rita Lecuyer, the late Adeline Cirasella, the late Mary Greco and the late Anthony Cirasella
