Shirley A. (Motard) Oates

PEPPERELL    Shirley A. (Motard) Oates, 68, of Pepperell, passed away after complications of the flu on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center. She was the widow of the late Roland Dexter Oates who passed away on November 1, 2017.
    She was born in Lowell on August 21, 1949 and was a daughter of the late Leo A. Motard Sr. and the late Patricia R. (Hanglin) Motard Sr. She was raised in Lowell where she attended the Bartlett School and Lowell High School.
    Shirley was a dispatcher for J & N Taxi for many years, and more recently she owned her produce stand, Shirley’s Produce. She. She loved playing bingo and computer games. She liked spending time reading, listening to 50’s music, going to the movies and visiting the Summit Center and the Dracut Senior Center every Wednesday, and spending lots of time with family.
    She is survived by her three children, Roland Oates and his wife, Ronilee of Cottonwood, AZ, Doris Viera and her husband, Kevin of Dracut, and James T. Oates and his wife, Sherry of Lowell; and her grandchildren, Matthew Oates, Roland Oates, and Isabella Viera. 
    She is also survived by 11 siblings, Sharon Wallace and her husband, James of  Florida, Sandra Langlois and her husband, Roland of Florida, Ralph "Sonny" Motard and his wife, Sharon of Florida, Patricia Roberge and her husband, Roland of Dracut, Ethel Sweeney of Pepperell, Michael Motard and his wife, Muriel of Nashua, NH, Raymond Motard and his wife, June of Manchester, NH, Theresa Roberge and her husband, Alfred of Nashua, NH, William Motard and his wife, Betsy of FL, Francis Motard Sr. and his wife, Susan Motard Sr. of FL, Lea Dodge and her husband, Michael of FL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    She was the mother of the late Matthew Thomas Oates; and grandmother of the late Tiffany Viera. She was also the sister of the late Leo Motard Jr., and sister in law of the late Joanne Motard and Norman Sweeney.
