Robert D. 'Cooch' Couture, Jr.

LOWELL Robert D. 'Cooch' Couture, Jr., 62, of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018, after a lengthy illness, at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maureen D. (Pierce) with whom he had celebrated their Forty Second Wedding Anniversary this past June.

Born December 23, 1955, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Robert Couture and the late Noreen (Rubenstein) Couture, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School. He then served with the United States Air Force.
After his honorable discharge, he worked at Prince Macaroni before becoming a Custodian for the Billerica Public School System until his retirement.

He made his home in the Acre Section of the City, and loved camping, especially spending time camping with his family and friends, especially at his camp site at Old Orchard Beach. In addition, he enjoyed car racing, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and golfing.
In addition to his loving wife, Maureen, he is survived by his sons, Ryan Couture and Eric Couture both of Lowell; his grandson, Caleb Couture of Lowell; his sisters, Diane Flibotte and her husband, Dave, of Tewksbury, and Joy Couture of Enfield, NH; his brothers, Michael Couture of Lowell, Raymond Couture of Vermont, and Anthony Couture of Enfield, NH; his brother in law, James Pierce and his wife, Carol, of Pelham, NH; his sisters in law, Helen Quigley of Lowell, and Winona Allen of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the a brother in law of the late Rita E. Dumont, the late Patricia R. Kasilowski, and the late Richard Pierce.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 6 P.M. ON SUNDAY, AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 6 P.M.
