Madeline A. ‘Mitzi’ Dinsmore

DRACUT Madeline A. ‘Mitzi’ (Zabbo) Dinsmore, 93, of Dracut, formerly of Lowell, died Friday, August 13, 2010, at her home after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late James G. Dinsmore Sr..
Born December 10, 1916, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and the late Concetta (Dimiao) Zabbo, and was educated in the Lowell School System.

She made her home in the Ayer City Section of the City for many years before residing in Dracut. She was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Parish and St. Margaret’s Parish, and a member of Holy Family Parish at St. Marie’s Church. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Holy Rosary Sodality.
Mitzi worked in the area shoe shops before working as an assembler for U.S.C.I. in Billerica until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards, cooking and spending time with her family and especially enjoyed family times together. She also would always look forward to Boston Red Sox Games and the daily lottery numbers.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Smith and her husband, Ernest, of Dracut; her sons, Edward Dinsmore and his wife, Sheila, of Chelmsford, James G. Dinsmore and his wife, Janine, of Berryville, VA, Vincent Dinsmore of Lowell, and Stephen Dinsmore and his wife, Priscilla, of Dracut; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren; her sister, Rose Costa of Lowell; her brother, Vincent Zabbo of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also a sister of the late Victor Zabbo, Francis ‘Lou’ Zabbo, Salvatore Zabbo, Annello ‘Icky’ Zabbo, Mary Nison, Louise Clark, and Angeline Barwick and mother in law of the late Mary Dinsmore.
