Linda Jean Marie Wood

LOWELL       Linda Jean Marie (Orr) Wood, 58, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer with her loving family at her side.   She was the beloved wife of Robert J. "Woody" Wood, with whom she celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this past December.

A daughter of the late David Orr and the late Theresa (Beaudry) Orr, she was born July 21, 1960, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School.

She made her home in the Highlands Section of the City, and after High School worked for Carroll Shoe before working as a secretary for the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford for more than thirty two years.

Family was her center and she loved spending time with family, especially with Woody when she was yelling at him. More than anything, time spent with her grandchildren was what she cherished most. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach and arts and crafts.

In addition to her loving husband, Woody, she is survived by her son, Robert Wood and his wife, Alicia, of New Ipswich, NH; her daughter, Kerri Bailey and her husband, Henry, of Lowell; her step daughter, Rebecca Gouguen and her husband, Greg, of Dracut; her seven grandchildren, Travis, Hayley, Kelsey, Tessa, Carter, Samantha, and Jason; her brothers, David Orr and his wife, Dawn of Eureka Springs, AR, and Robert Orr and his husband, Andrew, of Lowell; her sisters, Darlene Tarsa of Lowell, Kimberly Orr of Lowell and Lisa Rose and her husband Jim of the South Shore; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

Linda and Woody's family would like to thank the Lowell General Cancer Center for their compassionate care and support during this trying time as well as her family and friends for always being there with smiles and open hearts.
