GORDON E. “BROTHER” MENEAR

CHELMSFORD Gordon E. “Brother” Menear, 73, of Chelmsford, passed away at his home, on Saturday, September 23, with his family by his side after battling cancer for over 13 years. He was the husband of his loving companion of over 27 years, Patricia (Merrill) Menear.

Born December 27, 1943, in Stoneham, he was a son of Eustace “Bill” Menear, and the late Ruth (Erickson) Menear. He grew up in Billerica, and spent every summer in Long Island Maine, lobstering with his uncle. He attended the local schools in Billerica.

Years ago, he worked in the auto body industry and had his own auto body shop in Billerica for many years. More recently he was a truck driver. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and his great niece, Sophia. He will be fondly remembered by many as the life of a good party.

Besides wife, Patricia, of Chelmsford, and his father, Bill, of Lowell, he is survived by his 4 children, Kellie Hanlon and her husband, David, of Merrimac, Robert Menear of Dracut, Jenny Menear and Tommy Menear both of Chelmsford; his grandchildren, Sheri Hanlon of Merrimac and Amber Doucet and her husband, Matt, of Haverhill, his siblings, Carolyn Goodwin of Lowell, Alice White and her husband, Ralph, of New Bethlehem, PA, Paula Matson of Rhode Island, Stacey Menear McLuskey of Lowell, Tracy Menear Young of Texas, and William Menear of Saugus. Also last but not least, his beloved dog "Harry".

He was also the brother of the late Bradley Menear, and the late Paul Allen Menear, his brother in law, the late Charles Matson.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 4 P.M. ON THURSDAY AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT 4 P.M.
