Frank K. Sitnik
"Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather"
LOWELL        Frank K. Sitnik, 88, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the widower of the late Lorraine (Cote) Sitnik who passed away in 2007.
     Born November 10, 1921, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Karol and the late Anna (Witkos) Sitnik, and was educated in the local schools graduating from Lowell Vocational High School. 
       Mr. Sitnik served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre, participating on the front lines in Okinawa.
       After his honorable discharge, he returned to Lowell, working as a mechanic for the former Prince Packaging Company.  He made his home in South Lowell for over sixty years, and was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church, and a communicant of Holy Family Parish. He loved spending time with his family, sharing stories of World War II.  He also enjoyed the lottery, especially Keno, and loved to take walks.  An animal lover, Frank was especially fond of his cat Peewee and his dog, Lady.
      He is survived by a son, Frank K. Sitnik Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Lowell; his grandchildren, Stacy J. Coimbra and her husband, Stephen, of Epsom, New Hampshire, Jennifer L. Sitnik and her fiancee, Robert Stamp, of Chichester, NH, and Frank C. Sitnik and his wife, Joy, of Dracut; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Coimbra, Brittany Coimbra, and Tyler Coimbra  all of Epsom, New Hampshire, and Annabell Sitnik of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews.
