Ernest G. 'Ernie' Hamilton Jr.
Beloved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and Uncle
LOWELL Ernest G. 'Ernie' Hamilton Jr., 78, of Chelmsford, died after a lengthy battle with emphysema Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Blaire House of Tewksbury. He was the husband of the late Rita P. (McAneney) Hamilton whom passed away in 1998.
Born December 16, 1933, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Ernest G. Hamilton Sr., and the late Elsie (Goss) Hamilton, attended the local schools, and graduated from Billerica High School.
Mr. Hamilton served with the United States Army during the Korean War.
He resided in Chelmsford, and was a member of the VFW Post 442 on Plain Street in Lowell. Ernie was employed as a Truck Driver for over 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed playing bingo and the company it afforded him. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Ernie is survived by his children, Beverly Krummus of Milford, NH, Barabra Hamilton of Billerica, Ernest Hamiltion III of Lowell, Edward Hamilton of Lowell, George Hamilton of Lowell, James 'Kevin' Hamilton of Pepperell, Brian Hamilton of Lowell, and Ellen Hamilton of Lowell; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters Ruth Colebrook of Maine and Barbara Madden of Tewksbury; a brother, Charles Hamilton of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Brenda LaCombe.
