Virginia T. Nelson
LOWELL Virginia T. (Fanning) Nelson, 92, of Lowell, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Town and Country Nursing Home after a period of declining health. She was the widow of the late Forrest C. Nelson.
A daughter of the late John Fanning and the late Mary (McGlinchey) Fanning, she was born September 4, 1921, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools graduating from Lowell High School. She then attended Lowell Commercial College.
Virginia made her lifelong home in Lowell, and was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. She worked as a secretary for Norcross and Leighton Insurance and retired from Fred C. Church Insurance Company. In addition to spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. Murphy of Nashua, NH; her grand daughters, Lauren Young and her husband, Nathan, of Amherst, NH, Katie Murphy and her fiancee, Craig Bradford, of Boston, and Kelly Murphy of El Centro, CA; her great grandsons, Cooper Young and Brady Young both of Amherst, NH; her sister-in-law, Grace Fanning; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a dear friend, Maryanne Young whom the family would like to thank for her love and support through the years.
She was a sister of the late Madeline Craig, the late Mary Fanning, the late Francis Fanning, the late John Fanning, and the late James Fanning.

MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS ST., LOWELL, AT 9:30 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, PLEASE MAKE A DONATION IN HER NAME TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE.
