James W. Tully
LOWELL James W. Tully, 70, a lifelong Lowell resident, died March 7, 2008 at Saints Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of Catherine (Wilson) Tully, with whom he celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary last June.
A son of the late James M. and the late Mary E. (Davis) Tully, he was born December 13, 1937, in Lowell, attended the local schools, and graduated from Keith Academy, Class of 1955. He continued to be enthusiastically involved as a member of the Keith Academy Alumni Association, supporting them financially, attending reunions, and will be remembered with a Memorial Brick in his name on the Lowell Catholic property.
He made his home in the Highlands Section of Lowell and was an active member of St. Margaret Parish and the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Nocturnal Adoration. He was also a longtime member of Mount Pleasant Golf Club and was an avid New England Patriots fan. He worked for Raytheon Corporation in South Lowell in production control for over forty years before his retirement.
Family gatherings were his favorite pasttime and as a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather and great grandfather, James was most proud of his large family and all their endeavors and accomplishments.
He is survived by his wife Catherine (Wilson) Tully and his nine children and their spouses: Leo and Catherine (Tully) Therriault of Lowell, James and Mary (Donovan) Tully of Dracut, Robert and Sheila (Tully) McMahon of Lowell, Barbara (Tully) Brady of Lowell, John and Judith (Tully) DuBay of Windham, Michael and Thea (Dukakis) Tully of Chelmsford, Scott and Patricia (Tully) Fuller of Lowell, Sean and Colleen (Kelly) Tully of Lowell, and Kevin and Anna (DeMello) Tully of Dracut. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren: Milissa Tully, Jason Starke, Eric Jalbert, Makayla Parson, Michael Frotten, Evan Frotten, Jennifer Frotten, Kaylee Wallace, Kiara Wallace, Brian Therriault, James W. Tully, Alison Tully, Robert J. McMahon, Kristin McMahon, Alysia McMahon, Tiffany Brady, Nicholas Bedard, Lindsay Bedard, Megan Bedard, Amy DuBay, Kassie DuBay, Nathan DuBay, Tyler DuBay, Cortney DuBay, Richard Christian, Jr., Jessica (DuBay) Choate and her husband, Ted Choate, Rebecca DuBay, John DuBay, Evanthia Tully, Catherine Tully, Stratos Tully, Theona Tully, Michael Cook, Scott Fuller, Jr., Ryan Fuller, Gregory Fuller, Gabrielle Fuller, Caitlin Tully, Sean Tully, and Seamus Tully; and many cousins including Robert Tully of Dracut and Shirley (Tully) Lombard of Lowell.
