Stephen E. Sanick

"Lifelong Resident of Lowell, Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather"

LOWELL Stephen E. Sanick, 72, of Lowell, died after a long period of declining health Monday, June 27, 2011 at Fairhaven Nursing Home.

Born March 9, 1939, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Edward, and the late Alice (Woessner) Sanick. He attended the local schools, and graduated from Lowell High School.

Stephen was a lifelong resident of Lowell, previously residing in the Pawtucketville and South Lowell areas. He was employed as a Mechanical Inspector for thirty years with Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington before his retirement. He was a volunteer for the National Cancer Society and an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and baseball, which he played in his younger days despite the use of only one arm.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen M. Dugas and her husband, David of Lowell, Stephen E. Sanick Jr. of Lowell, and Susan A. Braga and her husband, Daniel of Lowell; six grandchildren, Shala Rousseau and her husband, Al of Orange, Cara Colon and her husband, Jose of Lowell, Jessica Dugas of Lowell, Michael Braga of Lowell, and Nicole Braga and her twin sister, Kristina Braga both of Lowell; four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Noah, Baylee, and Amelia. He also leaves a stepson, Kevin Brady and his wife, Nancy of Lowell, and their three children, Tyler, Kelsey, and Kierstyn.

He was also the longtime companion of the late Emily Nachreiner, with whom he shared his life for over fourteen years before she passed away in 1994.
