Christie Lee Sanchez

LOWELL - Christie Lee Sanchez, 40, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus.
She was born in Lowell on February 26, 1976 and was a daughter of George Carter of Maine and Helen (McKinnis) Sanchez of Lowell. She was raised and educated in Lowell and had close ties to Lawrence, Puerto Rico and Santa Domingo. Christie resided in the Centralville neighborhood for many years. She was employed as a personal care attendant for about 6 years before becoming a full time caretaker for her beloved mother for many years. She had a passion for cooking, especially spanish food. She enjoyed listening and dancing to music greatly. She will be remember fondly for her sense of humor and her unique laugh. She was deeply involved with volunteer work within the shelter community and addiction recovery work. Christie loved the color purple and the family kindly suggests that everyone coming to the visitation and funeral please wear something purple, if possible, in memory of Christie.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her son, Daniel Sanchez of Lawrence, her sister, Elana Russ of Surfside, SC, her brother, Mark Sanchez of Tampa, FL, her former husband, Manuel Gonzalez of Lowell and his extended family whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many friends and her dearest loved ones, her best friend and cousin, David Carter and his wife Amy Carter of Marlborough, Marisol Ortiz of Lowell, Taccara Smith and her son, Shyhiem Smith, both of Lowell, her boyfriend, William Reynolds of Lowell, her Godchildren, Angelina Dwyer of Marlborough and William Rodriguez of Lowell.
She was also the sister of the late Donna Sanchez and the best friend of the late Mellissa Lombard.

ON TUESDAY, NOVEMEBER 22, 2016, YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 3 UNTIL 5 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT 5 P.M..
