Ruth Irene Brunelle

LOWELL Ruth Irene (Butters) Brunelle, of Lowell, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Wingate at Belvidere after a long illness with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Ronald D. Brunelle for Forty-Six years before his death in 2000.

Born December 3, 1923, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Fred Butters and the late Jane (Welcome) Butters, and was educated in the Chelmsford School System, graduating from Chelmsford High School. She made her home in Dracut for many years, and more recently resided in Lowell.

She is survived by her daughters, Catherine M. Gerry and her husband, Robert, of Seabrook, NH, and Patricia Champagne and her husband, Timothy, of Dracut; her grandchildren, Michael B. Ratcliffe of Greenland, NH, Jonathan P. Ratcliffe of Seabrook, NH, Mitchell Bennett and his wife, Katelyn, of Billerica, Rebecca R. Swenson and her husband, Mark, of Nashua, NH, and William R. Granfield of Dracut; a great grandson, Colby J. Makiej of Nashua, NH, and a great grand daughter, Bridget C. Bennett of Billerica; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also a sister of the late Dorothy Davis.
