Rita Sakalinski
"Loving Wife"

MEDFIELD Rita C. (Meagher) Sakalinski, age 84, beloved wife of John Sakalinski, died Thursday July 12th at home in Medfield, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Lowell on August 10, 1927, Rita was the daughter of Francis Thomas and Elizabeth (Connors) Meagher, and the sister of Elizabeth (Betty) Perry, Thomas Meagher, Mary Rogers, and Helen Meagher, who predeceased her. Rita lived in Lowell for many years and enjoyed six years in Boulder, Colorado. She has lived in Medfield for the past sixteen years.
A graduate of Lowell High School, Rita worked as a traffic supervisor for the Lowell Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1993.
Rita enjoyed bowling, games of chance, especially bingo, engaging with people, and celebrating life with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years and her three daughters: JoAnne Sakalinski of Dracut, Susan Brooks and her husband, John L. Brooks, III, of Medfield, and Judith Murphy of Lowell. Rita had six grandchildren, Katherine and Robert Brooks, Matthew, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Eryka Murphy, and two great-grandchildren, Zoeshka and Lilliana. She had many nieces and nephews, including Carol (Meagher) Gadbois, Thomas and Michael Meagher, Donna Perry, and Dianne (Rogers) Jacobs, and special family friends, Johnny G. Gauthier and Nancy Brooks.
