LOWELL Patricia A. DeMarco, R.N., 87, of Dracut, died after a long illness Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Sunny Bower Assisted Living Facility in Bradenton, FL. She was the wife of the late Salvatore E. DeMarco who passed away in 2003, and the wife of the late Joseph J. Lussier who passed away in 1976.
Born February 5, 1926, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late James A. Deignan, and the late Matilda (Burke) Deignan. She attended the Morey School and Lowell High School as well as schools in Washington, DC. She is a graduate of St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1947.
She grew up in the Highlands, and was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years at the E. N. Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford before retiring in 1981. A quite private person, she enjoyed cooking and reading. She was a very dedicated and compassionate nurse her entire career.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Marie Mousseau and her husband, Roger of Bradenton, FL; two grandsons, Daniel J. Lussier of Brookline, MA and Joseph R. Mousseau of Key West, FL; a great grandson, Alex Herner of Indiana; a brother, James A. Deignan of Townsend, MA; a sister, Marie E. Kirwin of Lowell; a sister-in-law Louise Deignan of Vermont; a sister in law, Eileen Lussier of Nashua; and a brother in law, Richard Lussier and his wife, Mary of Fort Myers, FL. She is survived by many nieces and nephews including Marie Sweeney of Tewksbury, William Kirwin of Dracut, Patti Kirwin Keilty of Lowell, William Deignan of Tewksbury, Paula Sweeney of Dracut and Robert Deignan of Lowell.
She was also the sister of the late Rita Karosos, the late Robert L. Deignan and the late William J. Deignan.
