Nelson L. Simao

DRACUT Nelson L. Simao, 38, of Dracut, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at his home.
He was a son of Apolinario ‘Paul’ and Evarista (Gois) Simao.

Born August 8, 1972, in Lowell, he was raised in Tewksbury, graduating from Tewksbury Memorial High School, and was also a graduate of University of Massachusetts Amherst.

He made his home in Dracut, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. Nelson worked as a freelance videographer for the past seven years, and had also worked in hotel and restaurant management. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his niece and nephews, and also enjoyed cooking and golfing.

In addition to his parents, Paul and Eva, he is survived by his brothers, Nario L. Simao and his wife, Kylee, of Chelmsford, and Alan L. Simao and his fiancee, Dori Howe, of Tewksbury; his niece, Bailey Simao, his nephews, Niko Simao, A.J. Simao, Preston Simao, and Cristian Simao; his uncles, Fernando Simao and his wife, Gabriela, of East Providence, RI, and Phillip Gois of Artesia, CA; his Godfather, Joseph Simao and his wife, Filomena, of Lowell; his aunts, Yvonne Quadros and her husband, Jose, of Peabody, Helena Martiniano and her husband, Manuel, of North Carolina, Noelia Madruga and her husband, Manuel, of Cerritos, CA, and Filomena Penland of Artesia, CA; his best friend, Jeff Snoonian, and many cousins and friends throughout New England, New York, and California.

He was also a nephew of the late Antonio Simao and the late Odete Sousa.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY. ON TUESDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
