Mary Rita Farmer
LOWELL Mary Rita (Farrell) Farmer, 84, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Friday, March 27, 2015, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife to Richard G. Farmer for the past Sixty Four years.
A daughter of the late John and the late Margaret Farrell, she was born January 22, 1931, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools.
For the past sixty years she made her home in the Highlands Section of the City, and was a communicant of St. Margaret Church. Mary worked as a receiver at the former Sears Roebuck and Company in Lowell, retiring after twenty years of service. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with husband, and enjoyed taking walks.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her children, Robert Farmer and his wife, Kathleen, of Merrimack, NH, Kathleen Doucette of Nashua, NH, and Debbie Farmer of Lowell; her sister, Ann Sullivan of Lowell, and she was the sister of the late John Farrell. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Colleen Noonan and her husband, Sean, of Lowell; her grandchildren, Leonard Schuster and his wife, Jennifer, of Merrimack, NH, and Amy Schuster of Nashua, NH; her great grandchildren, Isabel Doucette of Lowell, and Sebastian, Cassandra, Thalia, and Colleen Noonan, Cassandra Jorge, Collin, and Andrew Schuster; and many nieces and nephews.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY, MARCH 30. ON TUESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9:30 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS ST., LOWELL AT 10:30 A.M. BURIAL IN LOWELL CEMETERY. MEMORIALS IN HER NAME MAY BE MADE TO THE NATIONAL PSORIASIS FOUNDATION AT www.psoriasis.org/ways-to-give/donate/tribute.
