Eileen A. ‘Nana’ McMenimen

Dedicated wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

LOWELL Eileen A. (West) ‘Nana’ McMenimen, 94, of Lowell, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at Life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley. She was the widow of the late Paul McMenimen.

Born May 9, 1916, in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, she was a daughter of the late Albert and the late Edith (Thomas) West. She relocated to Lowell with her family and was educated in the local schools. Upon the deaths of both her parents while she was still young, she raised her siblings, and worked in the Mills with her sister, Joan, to help provide for her family.

Eileen was a dedicated wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed Hampton Beach, and traveling to England, but especially enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas to spend time with two of her sons.
The family is grateful to the dedicated staff at Life Care Center in Billerica for their love and support, especially to the staff of A Wing.

She is survived by her children, Brian McMenimen of Salisbury, Joan Del Rossi and her husband, David, of Lowell, Gary McMenimen of Las Vegas, and Stephen McMenimen and his wife, Judy, of Las Vegas; eleven grandchildren, David Del Rossi II, Eileen Del Rossi, Diana Del Rossi, and Paula Del Rossi, Peter McMenimen, Brian McMenimen Jr., Kelly McMenimen, Stephanie McMenimen, Brittany McMenimen, Erin McMenimen, and Stephen McMenimen Jr.;a great grand daughter, Hailey Del Rossi, and a beloved niece, Arlene Browning of Lowell as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Albert West, Josephine Kroon, Alice Dinwiddie, John West, Raymond West, and Grace Duval as well as the grandmother of the late Ryan McMenimen.

YOU ARE INVITED TO VISITATION 9:30 UNTIL 10:30 A.M. TUESDAY MORNING AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816, FOLLOWED BY HER FUNERAL SERVICE AT 11 A.M. ST. JOHN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 260 GORHAM ST., LOWELL. BURIAL WILL BE HELD PRIVATELY ON WEDNESDAY AT THE WESTLAWN CEMETERY.
