"Loving Mother and Wife"
LOWELL Maria Ormonde (Vasconcelos) Meneses, 46, of Lowell died unexpectedly Tuesday at her home. She was the wife of Joao E. Meneses with whom she celebrated their twenty-eighth Wedding Anniversary last month.
A daughter of Nazere and the late Antonio Vasconcelos she was born April 25, 1963 and was raised in Terceira, Azores, Portugal. In 1981 she came to the US to raise her family- settling in Lowell.
She was a member of the Holy Ghost Society and enjoyed knitting, gardening, nature, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Maria worked for Beauty Box in Dracut and The Sheraton in Lowell before working for Total Filters in Nashua until illness forced her retirement.
Besides her husband Joao she is survived by three children
Sonia, Cesar, and Cristina Meneses of Lowell; her siblings Jose, Carlos, Lawrence, Antonio, Roberto, and Nazere Vasconcelos of Terceira, and Vanda Perreira of Toronto, Canada; her father in law, Salvador Meneses of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
