Lorraine Ledoux
LOWELL Lorraine Ledoux, 84, of Lowell, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 at D’Youville Life and Wellness Community. She was the dear companion of William Rogers with whom she shared over 45 years.
She was born January 21, 1931, in Lowell, and was a daughter of the late Paul E. Ledoux and the late Aurore (Lebrecque) Ledoux. She was raised in Lowell where she attended the area schools.
Lorraine was a lifelong Lowell resident and was a devoted communicant of the former St. Jeanne D’Arc Parish. She was employed for the University of Lowell, formerly Lowell Tech for over 40 years before retiring as the switchboard supervisor. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, especially to Alton, NH and to the beach. She also enjoyed playing the piano and dancing in her earlier years.
Lorraine leaves a beloved cousin, Fr. Robert Champagne, S.M.; dear friend, Sr. Pauline Leblanc S.C.O.; her nieces and nephews, Paul Achin of Lowell, Lise Pelletier of Dracut, Celine Beaudry of Dracut, Melanie Achin of Dunstable, Laurice Achin of Lowell, Gerald Ledoux of Billerica, Collette Houle of Methuen, Jacqueline Ledoux of Dracut, Diane Dias of Tyngsboro, Carol Paquette of Kissimmee, FL, and Michael Ledoux of Dracut. She is also survived by her many friends she made during her stay at D’Youville Life and Wellness Center.
Lorraine was also the sister of the late Gabrielle Achin, Paul Ledoux, Roger Ledoux; and the was the aunt of the late Monique Ledoux. She is also preceded in death by her aunts, the 5 Lebrecque Grey Nuns, Sr. Marie Henri, Sr. Gabriel of Jesus, Sr. Maxime, Sr. Emelda, Sr. Reine Therese.
Her family would life to thank the nurses and staff at D’Youville Life and Wellness Center, especially those in the Commodore Unit, for their loving compassion and care she received during her stay.
ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2015, YOU ARE INVITED TO HER FUNERAL SERVICE AT 10 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816.
