Lorraine J. Gallagher
LOWELL Lorraine J. (Therrien)(Coimbra) Gallagher, 71, a lifelong Lowell resident, died May 27, 2008 at Saints Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the wife of Joseph Gallagher, with whom she would have celebrated their Thirteenth Wedding Anniversary on June 5, 2008.
A daughter of Jeannette (Mitchell) Therrien of Chelmsford and the late Alfred Therrien, she was born July 18, 1936, in Boston, and was educated in the local schools.
She made her lifelong home in Lowell, and was a waitress at the former Palmer Restaurant. Her favorite past time was to spend time with family and friends, especially her nine grandchildren. She also liked camping, Salisbury Beach, traveling, and especially Foxwoods Casino.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, and her mother Jeannette, she is survived by three children, Donna Whitney and her husband, Edward, of Lowell, Stephen Coimbra and his wife, Stacy, of Epsom, NH, and Kimberly McGillicuddy and her husband, Daniel, of Lowell; her grandchildren, Justin Whitney, Stephanie Whitney, Nicole Whitney, and Zachery Whitney all of Lowell, Jonathan Coimbra, Brittany Coimbra, and Tyler Coimbra all of Epsom, NH, and Jared Coimbra and Madison McGillicuddy both of Lowell; her brother, Ronald Therrien and his wife, Margaret ‘Peggy’, of Dracut; a sister in law, Florence Cordiero of Dracut; a brother in law, Francis Coimbra and his wife, Maureen, of Lowell, and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the former wife of the late Antonio ‘Hunka’ Coimbra and sister of the late Beverly Barrant.
