Laura A. (Aguiar) DeJesus
LOWELL Laura A. (Aguiar) DeJesus, 84, of Lowell, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Wingate of Belvidere. She was the widow of the late Adam P. DeJesus who passed away in 2007.
She was born in Lowell on August 17, 1931 and was a daughter of the late Manuel Aguiar and the late Justina (Gouviea) Aguiar. Laura was raised in Lowell where she attended the area schools before graduating from Lowell Trade School to become a hairdresser
Laura was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and was a member of the Holy Ghost Society. She was employed as a hairdresser for many years before becoming a paraprofessional for the City of Lowell School Department, where she made many wonderful friends. She was an avid knitter and was well known for making beautiful sweaters. She loved butterflies and enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels.
Laura is survived by her two children, Joseph A. Camara and his partner, Edward J. Banks of Lowell, and Lauren Lannon and her husband, Frederick of Chelmsford; and her two grandchildren, Kristi Lannon and Steven Lannon. She is also survived by her stepson, step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Alvaro Aguiar, Joseph Aguiar, and Rosaria Barros.

ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 20, 2016 YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, 978-458-6816.

ON THURSDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE FUNERAL HOME. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL, AT 10 A.M..  FOLLOWED BY BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS MAY BE MADE TO BEACON HOSPICE, 13 BRANCH STREET #100, METHUEN, MA 01844.
