Laudelina Silva
LOWELL Laudelina (Ramos) Silva, 83, of Lowell, died peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday, January 16, 2012, at Northwood Rehabiliation Center with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Antero S. Silva who passed away in 2003.
A daughter of the late Bartholomeu and the late Ana (Melo) Ramos, she was born January 12, 1930, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, and was educated in that area, making her home there until 1966 when she came to the United States with her family.
She settled in Lowell’s Back Central Street area, where she was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. She had a deep devotion to her faith and her Church, and was a member of the Holy Rosary and the Holy Ghost Park. When she came to Lowell, she worked for the Hathaway Shirt Company until it closed in 1977 and then worked for USI Bard in Billerica until she retired in 1992.
Laudelina enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and shopping.
She is survived by her children, Maria D. Nadeau and her husband, Donald, of Wilton, and Angelo M. Silva and his wife, Cynthia R., of Nashua; her grandchildren, Christina M. Jutras and her husband, Paul, of Nashua, and Tyler S. Silva and Dylan M. Silva also of Nashua; her great granddaughter, Mekenzie Rose-Lyn Jutras of Nashua; her sister, Leontina Silva and her husband, Arlindo, of Lowell; her sister in law, Balbina Ramos of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also a sister of the late Manuel Ramos, the late Lidonio Ramos, and the late Noamia Picanso, and sister in law of the late Lillian Ramos and the late Joao Picanso.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY, JAN. 21. ON TUESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
