Larry C. Walker
LOWELL Larry C. Walker, 53, of Lowell, died Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Saints Medical Center after a long illness.
Born March 14, 1955, in Shelby, North Carolina, he was a son of Sarah (Cannedy) Walker of Shelby, and the late Lester Walker. He made his home in that area until the 1970’s when he relocated to Lowell. He attended Lowell High School and has made his home in Lowell since that time. He worked in the construction field in Philadelphia and locally. Larry enjoyed building model air planes
In addition to his mother, Sarah, he is survived by two sons, Larry Freda and Mark Walker both of Lowell; eight grandchildren all of Lowell; a brother, Leslie Walker, a sister, Mrs. Patricia (Walker) Finney and her son, Aaron Walker, and his maternal grandmother, Miss Jennie B. Cannedy all of Shelby, NC; three uncles, Nathaniel Walker of Lowell, Rayford Brown of Shelby, NC, and John Moore of Bradock, PA; two aunts, Janie (Walker) Moore of Bradock, PA and Annette Walker of Lowell, whom he lovingly called ‘Peaches’ and thought of affectionately as his mother; and four great aunts as well as a host of relatives and dear friends including Nick and Ann Petropoulis of Lowell.
Mr. Walker was predeceased by his his daughter, Ylonda Evelyn Walker, his paternal gradmother, Mrs. Geneva (Choate) Walker, who raised Larry as a son, his aunts, Gladys (Walker) Brown, Evelyn (Walker) Holland, Mamie (Elmore) Walker, and Willie Mae (Milton) Walker, and his uncles, Eleazer Lee Walker, Clarence Holland.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS VISITATION 10 UNTIL 11 A.M. ON THURSDAY AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11 A.M.
