Juventino B. Silva
LOWELL Juventino B. Silva, 88, of Lowell, died peacefully at his home, Monday, January 19, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Laurinda (Silva) Silva, with whom he celebrated their Sixty Second Wedding Anniversary last year.
Born November 9, 1926, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was a son of the late Manuel and the late Olivia (Bettencor) Silva, and was raised and educated in that area. He came to the United States in 1971 with his family, making his home in the Back Central Street Neighborhood.
Mr. Silva was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, and retired from the Bournival Motor Group in 1989 where he was employed in the maintenance department.
In addition to spending time with his children and grandchildren, he enjoyed going back to his summer home in Graciosa which he did for the past 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Portuguese American Civic League and the Portuguese American Center both in Lowell.
Besides his loving wife, Laurinda, he is survived by his son, John Silva and his wife, Nina, of Tewksbury; his daughter, Isabel Fidalgo and her husband, Joao, of Lowell; his grandchildren, Jason Fidalgo and Natalie Fidalgo both of Lowell, and Calvin Silva and Evan Silva both of Tewksbury; his sisters, Rosa Espinola and her husband, Manuel, of Lowell, and Maria Horta and her husband, Edelberto, of Lowell; his sisters in law, Durvalina Silva of Lowell and Noemia Silva of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his four brothers, Manuel Silva, Joao Silva, Alexandrinho Silva, and Saleotino Silva.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 8:30 UNTIL 10:30 ON THURSDAY MORNING, JANUARY 22. HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 10:30 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
