Joseph Goes
LOWELL Joseph Goes, 83, of Lowell, formerly of Tewskbury, died Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Willow Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Margaret M. (Murphy) Goes.
Joseph was born August 26, 1928, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal where he grew up working on his families farm until he immigrated to the United States for a better life, settling in Lowell. He worked in many of the area mills and in 1958 he began working at Raytheon in Bedford retiring in 1993. Joseph enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables.
Mr. Goes served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son, Patrick J. Goes and his wife, Susan Grenier, and two grandchildren Andrew J. Goes, and Meghan E. Goes all of Tyngsboro.
