Jose Carlos Vitorino


NASHUA NH Jose Carlos Vitorino, 57, of Nashua, NH, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ana P. (Mota) Vitorino with whom he celebrated their 33rd Wedding Anniversary this past July.


A son of Odete (Olivera) he was born June 19, 1961, in Lisbon, Portugal and was raised and educated in that area. While in Portugal, he worked as a stocking clerk for a pharmaceutical company. In 1985 he came to the United States settling in Lowell. For the past eight years, he made his home in Nashua, New Hampshire.


He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and a member of the Holy Ghost Society as well as the Portuguese American Civic League and the Portuguese American Club. Carlos loved spending time with his grandchildren, and he loved his hobby, cooking. He especially loved cooking for family and friends. His other love was soccer and he was an avid supporter of Benfica. He could also be heard supporting the New England Patriots as well as the Green Bay Packers.


Most recently he was employed as a stockroom clerk with Brooks Automation for the past 5 years, prior to that he was with MilliporeSigma in Billerica for several years.


Besides his loving wife, Ana, he is survived by his children, Matthew D. Vitorino of Nashua, and Kassandra L. Vitorino of Nashua; his three grandchildren, Khloee, Izabella, and Charlie, and expectant grandson, Thomas, due next week. He is also survived by his sisters, Susana Espalha and Liliana Monteiro both of Portugal and his brother, Joao Monteiro, also of Portuga; his brothers in law, Jorge Mota of Lowell and Domingos Mota and his wife, Stephanie, of Lowell; as well as his many nieces and nephews including, Jessica Leal, Michael Mota, Jonnathan Mota and Brittney Mota; and his grandnieces and grandnephews; and is also survived by his father in law and mother in law, Manuel and Maria Mota of Portugal.


Carlos was predeceased by his sister in law, Maria Mota.

ON MONDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 10 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL AT 11 A.M.. BURIAL IN WOODLAWN CEMETERY, NASHUA, NH.
