Beloved Husband and Father
CHELMSFORD Jon Paul Doherty, 47, of Chelmsford, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in Chelmsford. He was the husband to Lisa (Pare) Doherty, with whom he celebrated their twenty second Anniversary this past May.
A son of Verner (Mello) Thamer of Chelmsford, he was born December 10, 1965, in Ayer, was educated in the Chelmsford area and graduated from Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Jon made his home in Chelmsford for the past twenty two years, and was an avid New England Patriots Fan, and in addition to spending time with his children, enjoyed bass fishing and refereeing football.
Mr. Doherty worked for over fifteen years at the Massachusetts Department of Corrections as a Heating and Air Conditioning Technician.
In addition to his beloved wife, Lisa, and his mother, Verner, he is survived by his children, Erika Doherty and Shane Doherty of Chelmsford; his brothers, Jamie Doherty and his wife, Debbie, of Florida, Mark Doherty and his wife, Laurie, of Arizona, and Patrick Brown of Methuen; his mother and father in law, Ronald Pare and his wife, Maura, of Chelmsford; his sister in law, Christine Pelkey and her husband, Rodney of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.
