John Joseph Murphy Jr.

LOWELL John Joseph Murphy Jr., 33, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 8, 2010. He was the loving husband of Victoria (Matheney) Murphy whom he married April 20, 2010.

Born April 8, 1977, in Lowell, he was a son of the late John J. Murphy, and the late Virginia M. (Callery) Murphy, attended the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School with the class of 1995.

He resided in Worcester, was a member of the former Sacred Heart Church and more recently a communicant of Holy Family Parish in St. Marie's Church in Lowell. He was employed as a construction worker for Boegel Home Improvements and Callery Construction Company. In his high school days, he played football for Bishop Guertin High School and Lowell High School. He was interested in all sports and enjoyed working out in his spare time.

Besides his wife, Victoria, he is survived by his grandfather, Daniel Murphy of Lowell; his aunts and uncles, Deborah Lessard and her husband, James, of Lowell, Judith Hajjar and her husband, David, of Methuen, Stephen Callery and his wife, Robin, of Lowell, Richard Callery and his wife, Marybeth of Lowell, James T. Callery and his companion, Virginia Bailey both of Lyndonville, VT, Robert Callery and his wife, Carolee, of Gill, Joseph Callery and his wife Eileen, of Methuen, Daniel Murphy Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Westford, Mary Jane Mitchell, and her husband, Brian, of Hingham and Nancy O'Connell and her husband, John, of Worcester and many cousins.

He was also the brother of the late Erin S. Murphy who passed away in 2004.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 9 UNTIL 10 A.M. ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL FOLLOW AT 11 A.M. IN THE FUNERAL HOME. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS DONATIONS MAY BE MADE DIRECTLY TO THE MURPHY FAMILY DURING THE VISITATION.
