James C. 'Chick' Manousos

Beloved Father and Grandfather; Resident of Dracut

LOWELL James C. 'Chick' Manousos, 72, of Dracut, passed on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born September 11, 1938, in Lowell, he was the son of the late Charles James, and the late Doris Loretta (Nolin) Manousos. He was a graduate of Lowell High School where he was a four year Varsity Football player for Coach Ray Riddick and a member of the Boy Officers Regime. He was also a very accomplished amateur boxer having won numerous titles.

He resided in Dracut, and was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. Soon after graduating from high school he began working for Heartstone Insurance Company as an insurance agent. He later followed in his fathers footsteps working as a chef in local restaurants. Chick later moved to the Los Angeles area and worked for the Anheuser-Busch Company and also worked in the real estate business. In his free time, Chick enjoyed growing vegetables and had a great love for sailing, fishing, and spending many summers at Lake Winnipesaukee with his family. His puppy, Kukla gave him great joy.

He is survived by his children, Donna G. DuBois and her husband, Paul of Newburyport, Charles J. Manousos and his wife, Jill of Lowell, James C. Manousos of Newburyport. He was also the father of Alexander and Alexandria Manousos both of Lowell. He also leaves three grandchildren, Chloe, Charles, and Samantha of Lowell; his longtime companion Lori Tolin of Dracut; and his good friend Mark St. John of Dracut.

HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD IN THE FUNERAL HOME DIRECTLY FOLLOWING THE CALLING HOURS AT 7 P.M.. BURIAL WILL BE HELD PRIVATELY.
