Hazel Mary (Silva) Morse

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Aunt
LOWELL Hazel Mary (Silva) Morse, 89, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Fairhaven Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Gerald E. Morse who passed away in 1994.

Born November 8, 1924, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Raphael and Gertrude (Fratus) Silva, and attended the local schools.

She formerly resided for many years on Broadway Street, and grew up in the Charles and Lawrence Street area in Lowell and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. She worked for many years at Scriptures Laundry, before marrying the late Gerald E. Morse, and resided in Germany for a while. She later retired from Lowell Lingerie in 1987.

She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Ford and Patricia Morse, both of Lowell; her son, Donald Morse and his wife, Kathy of Barrington, NH; her grandchildren, Kristine (Ford) Barry of Woburn, Karen (Ford) Prendergast of Billerica, Stephanie (Morse) Breton of Andover, Stacey Morse of Portsmouth, NH and Donald Morse Jr. of Barrington, NH; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Beatrice A. (Lemieux) Silva, Lorraine R. Aube both of Beverly, Philip F. Lemieux, Jeffrey Vasconcelos Jr., both of Lowell, Donald Vasconcelos of Palm Springs, CA, and many great nieces and nephews.
Hazel was predeceased by her son, Michael Morse and she was the beloved sister of the late Manuel and Frank Silva, Isabel Vasconcelos, and Aurora Rita Lemieux.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER MEMORIAL VISITATION FROM 10 A.M. UNTIL 12 P.M. ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12 AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. FOLLOWING THE VISITATION HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 12 NOON. FOLLOWED BY BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
