Henry G. ‘Hank’ Cormier

"Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather"

LOWELL Henry G. ‘Hank’ Cormier, 84, a longtime Lowell resident, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at D’youville Center for Advanced Therapy after a long illness. He was the husband of Ramona (Gouveia) Cormier, with whom he celebrated their Fifty Fourth Wedding Anniversary this past April.

A son of the late William and the late Mary (Roache) Cormier, he was born February 4, 1928, in Newton, and was educated in the Lowell Schools, graduating from Lowell Trade High School.

Mr. Cormier was a former member of St. Peter’s Parish and more recently was a communicant of Holy Family Parish in Lowell. For over thirty years, he worked as a machinist for Lowell Safety Tread and Raytheon until his retirement. He also worked as a bartender at Hynes’ Tavern for many years.

Gardening was his lifelong passion. He also enjoyed time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. His hobbies included woodworking and working on cars, he was known as being able to fix anything. He also adored his dog, Maggie.

Besides his wife, Ramona, he is survived by his children, Suzanna M. Wooldridge of Lowell, Carol A. Jones and her husband, Donald, of Boxborough, Jeffrey Cormier and his wife, Joanne, of Lowell, Martin D. Cormier of Lowell, Russell J. Cormier of Lowell, and William H. Cormier and his wife, Jennifer, of Dracut; his grandchildren, Jessica Perrin and her husband, Roland, of Leominster, Angela Cormier, Jennifer Cormier and Paul Cormier, all of Lowell, Ethan and Ava Jones of Boxborough and Joslyn Cormier of Dracut; his great grandchildren, Brittany, Justin and Audry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also a brother of the late Joseph Cormier, the late Francis Cormier and the late Thomas Cormier.
