Gladys M. (Birchall) Dixon

LOWELL Gladys M. (Birchall) Dixon, 81, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Lowell General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of the late Robert E. Dixon Sr. who passed away in 2000.
A daughter of the late William Birchall and the late Alice (L'Espernance) Birchall, she was born June 12, 1934, in Lowell, and was raised in Lowell and educated in the local schools.

Since 2000, she made her home in Dracut. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, camping, and before his passing, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Robert. Dining out with family and friends always made her happy, she loved animals, and she will be remembered by many for loving peanut butter crackers. She also enjoyed watching Johnny Carson and David Letterman.

For many years before her retirement, she worked as a receptionist for Northwood Nursing Home in Lowell.

Her survivors include her children, Robert E. Dixon Jr. of Hobbs, NM, B. Michael Dixon and his wife, Karen, of Peabody, Alice R. Quinlan and her husband, Garrett, of Pepperell, Mary E. Rosenquist of Dracut, Bernadette L. Blake and her husband, Clifford, of Lowell, and Christopher T. Dixon Sr. and his wife, Christine, of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren, Jennifer Dixon Hanson and her husband, Brandon, Robert E. Dixon III, Jason Dixon, James Dixon, Ashleigh Dixon, Rebecca Dixon, Justin Quinlan and his wife, Lindsay, Garrett Quinlan and his fiance, Christie O'Sullivan, Jennifer Vose and her husband, Nicholas, Meredith Kay and her husband, Greg, Misty Rosenquist and her partner, Joe Lariviere, Michelle Rosenquist and her partner, Patrick Douglas, Kailey Blake and her partner, Paul Lamoureux, Katey Blake-Rivera and her husband, Frankie, Christopher Dixon Jr. and his partner, Michelle Bowlan, Brittany Dixon, and Sarah Dixon; her twenty great grandchildren and one expectant great grandchild in August. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Terry Dixon; a brother in law, Bertrand E. Dixon and his wife, Evelyn of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters.

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT IMMACULATE CONCEPTION LOWER CHURCH, 144 EAST MERRIMACK ST., LOWELL, AT 11:30 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY. MEMORIALS IN HER NAME TO IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH BUILDING FUND, 144 EAST MERRIMACK ST., LOWELL MA 01852.
