Frank Michael ‘Mike’ Wilson
LOWELL Frank Michael ‘Mike’ Wilson, 66, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Oct. 17, 2008, unexpectedly after a brief illness in Methuen. He was the widower of the late Maureen A. (Marcotte) Wilson who died June 9, 2001.
A son of the late Frank W. and the late Cecilia Rose (Normandy) Wilson, he was born October 21, 1941, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools.
Frank, or ‘Mike’ as he was affectionately known, was a kind and generous man to most who knew him, especially to his family, retiring early to care for his ill wife for eight years before his death, being her main health care provider in order to keep her home and not in a nursing facility. He also loved to spend time with his family, grandchildren, and more recently his great grandchildren. He also volunteered and was actively involved at Callery Park Senior League Baseball, and could be found at Lowell Brunswick Lanes where he was an avid bowler or the golf course, his second favorite pasttime.
For more than twenty five years, Mr. Wilson worked as a truck driver for Dupont, the former New England Nuclear (NEN) in Billerica before his retirement. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
He is survived by three children, Thomas M. Wilson and his wife, Brenda, of Lowell, Marylou Corriveau and her husband, Gerard, of Blackstone, and Robyn Sutton and her husband, Bernard, of Salem, NH; seven grandchildren, Melissa Boban, Michael Sutton, Joshua Corriveau, Nicole Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Matthew Wilson, and Christian Corriveau; two great grandchildren, Gabryelle Boban and Sabian Wilson; two brothers, David C. Wilson and his wife, Greta, of Dracut, and Mark J. Wilson of Lowell; two sisters, Francene M. Johnson and her husband, Peter, of Chelmsford, and Patricia A. Wilson of Pompano Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Brent Wilson and brother of the late Steven R. Wilson.
