Frank L. ‘Frankie’ Quadros

 

LOWELL    Frank L. ‘Frankie’ Quadros, 72, of Lowell, passed away after a long illness, Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital- Saints Campus. He was the loving husband of Donna (Avila) Quadros with whom he celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary June 12, 2017.

 

He was born in Lowell on February 17, 1945 and was a son of the late Frank Quadros and the late Georgina (Silva) Quadros.  He was raised in Lowell where he attended the area schools, graduating from Lowell High School with the Class of 1962. He then continued studying Business Administration at Middlesex Community College, earning his Associates Degree.

 

Frank honorably served with the United States Army before his honorable discharge. He then became a firefighter with the Lowell Fire Department for 13 years before he was injured while fighting a chemical fire that forced his early retirement. After retiring from the Fire Department, he later worked for Dupont Pharmaceuticals in Billerica for 15 years. Throughout his entire life he also worked as a barber.

 

Frank was a lifelong Lowell Resident, residing in the Belvidere Section of the city. He was a member of the Lowell Lodge of Elks, the Lowell and Massachusetts Retired Firefighters Association. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his children and grandchildren. He also loved taking trips to Foxwoods. When his children were growing up, he was very involved in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Oliveira Little League Baseball.

 

In addition to his wife, Donna of Lowell, he is survived by his four children, David Quadros and his wife, Lena of Chelmsford, Steven Quadros and his wife, Michelle of Nashua, Gary Quadros, a Firefighter with Lowell Fire Department, and his companion, Kimberly Trudel of Dracut, and Deana Quadros of Lowell. He is also survived by his five grandsons, Nicholas Quadros, Dylan Quadros, David Quadros, Alexander Quadros, and Samuel Quadros; his uncle, John Silva of Seabrook, NH; and his cousins, David Silva of Seabrook, NH, Linda Leney of Dennis, Cathy Silva of Londonderry, and Joseph Cunha and his wife, Bea of Dracut, his brother in law, Spike Zousoumas and his wife Arleneof Lowell.

 

He was predeceased by his mother and father in law, the late Harvey and the late Lottie Beauregard; and his aunt, the late Mary Bettencourt.

 

His family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus, especially the IMC for the exceptional care he received.

 

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 2-4 P.M. AND 6-9 P.M. ON THURSDAY, JULY 6, 2017.

 

ON FRIDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED FRIDAY AT HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 30 GRAFTON STREET, LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.  

 

IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, DONATIONS MAY BE MADE TO: BOSTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL, 300 LONGWOOD AVE, BOSTON MA 02115  OR TO:  NORTHEAST ANIMAL SHELTER, 347 HIGHLAND AVE. SALEM, MA  01970.
