Felicissimo N. ‘Frank’ DaSilva

"Beloved Brother and Uncle"

LOWELL Felicissimo N. ‘Frank’ DaSilva, 68, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Lowell General Hospital.
Born November 29, 1948, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was a son of the late Felicissimo Nascimento and the late Georgina Ramalho. He was raised and educated in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, where he served with the Portuguese Military, and was stationed in Angola. After his military service, he left the Azores at the age of twenty one, moving to the United States, making his home in Lowell until his death.

Frank was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and a member of the Portuguese American Center, the ‘Blues Club’. He enjoyed cooking, especially for his large family around the Holidays and for special occasions. In his younger days, he will be remembered by family as the ‘family photographer’, always ready to document every event and vacation. He also enjoyed helping in the garden.

He worked as a color matcher for Bradford Industries for over forty years, and was semi-retired, still working for them part time.
A central part of his large family, Frank will be missed by his sister, Maria G. Sousa of Lowell; his brothers, Jose E. Nascimento and his wife, Maria, of Lowell, and Manuel E. Nascimento and his wife, Benvinda, of Terceira, Azores, Portugal; his nieces and nephews, Judy Sousa, John Sousa, Victor Sousa, Suzanna Nascimento, Michael Nascimento, Nelia Espinola, Victor Espinola, and Paula Freitas; his many great nephews and great nieces; his sister in law, Maria Alice Nascimento of Terceira, Azores, Portugal; and his aunt, Maria Gil of Peabody and many cousins and friends.

He was also a brother of the late Elmiro Nascimento.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 6 P.M. ON SUNDAY. ON MONDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL ST., LOWELL, AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
