Frank R. Allen

LOWELL       Frank R. Allen, 61, of Lowell, died suddenly, Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Lowell General Hospital.   He was the husband of Winona M. (Pierce) Allen, with whom he would have celebrated their Thirty Sixth Wedding Anniversary this coming June.

      A son of the late David and the late Lillian (Walters) Allen, he was born April 5, 1948, in Lowell, and grew up and was educated in Dracut.

     An avid sportsfan, in his younger days he enjoyed playing softball and was a fan of the Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the Boston Celtics.  He most enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.   He worked at Faulkner Mills as a Machinist Mechanic for seventeen years before becoming affiliated with the City of Lowell School Department as a custodian, working in various school buildings, including the High School.

       In addition to his wife, Winona, he is survived by three children, Frank Joseph Allen and his wife, Christine, of Lowell, Ronald Michael Allen and his girlfriend, Melissa Nys, of Lowell, and Timothy David Allen and his girlfriend, Patricia Martinez, of Lowell; six grandchildren, Ronald Michael Allen Jr., Rennae Michelle Allen, Timothy David Allen Jr., Isabel Emily Allen, Ashleigh May Allen and Frank Joshua Allen all of Lowell; his sister, Lillian Allen of Lowell; brother and sisters in law, Rita T. Dumont of Dracut, James W. Pierce and his wife, Carol, of Pelham, NH, Helen Quigley of Lowell, Maureen Couture and her husband, Bob, of Lowell, Richard Pierce of Lowell, and Richard Kasilowski of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews, as well as many grand nieces and grand nephews.

       He was also the brother of the late David Allen, the late George Allen, the late Charles Allen, the late Robert Allen, the late William Allen, the late Mildred Smith, the late Dorothy M. Fells, and the late Shirley Beaulieu.   He was the brother n law of the late Pat Kasilowski, the late Bob Dumont, and the late Richard Quigley.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON TUESDAY, APRIL 14, AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.   

HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD WEDNESDAY AT 10 A.M. IN THE FUNERAL HOME,  BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
