Francisco B. “Frank” Cardoso

TEWKSBURY Francisco B. “Frank” Cardoso, 69, of Tewksbury, passed away after a brief illness, at home, with his family by his side on Friday, March 3, 2017. He was the husband of the late Olga (Cunha) Cardoso, with who passed away in 1995.
Born March 5, 1947, in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, he was a son of the late Francisco, and the late Maria (Barcelos) Cardoso. He was raised and educated in Terceira. He served with the Portuguese Army before relocating to the United States in the 1970’s.
He lived in Lowell for many years, before making his home in Tewksbury. He was a communicant of Saint Anthony’s Church, and was a member of the Portuguese American Center, the Blue’s Club. He had a passion for flowers, he enjoyed gardening, and worked as a groundskeeper for Hickory Hill Golf Course in Methuen for over 20 years, also, he worked for the Brox Family since he came to the United States over 40 years ago. Frank enjoyed masonry, and stone working, and had a special talent for constructing stone walls. Most important to him was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Michael Cardoso, and his wife Shannon, of Tewksbury, and his two grandchildren, Michael and Ava Cardoso of Tewksbury, his sisters, Maria Leonor Barbara and her husband, Manuel, of Methuen, Izilda Ferreira of Somerville, Benilde DaCosta and her husband, Manuel, of Methuen, his brother, Carlos Cardoso and his wife, Senhorinha, of Lowell. Many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Antonio Cardoso, and the late Manuel Dinis.


YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON MONDAY, MARCH 6.

ON TUESDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND ST, LOWELL, MA 01852.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT 10 A.M AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL, BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY.
