Florence M. Cordeiro
"Matriarch of The Coimbra Family"

EPSOM NH Florence M. (Coimbra) Cordeiro, 90, of Epsom, NH, formerly of Dracut, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Presidential Oaks in Concord, New Hampshire, after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Manuel A. Cordeiro who died in 2000.

Born September 27, 1920, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and the late Caroline (DaSilva) Coimbra, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School, Class of 1939, and also graduated from Lowell Commercial College.

For over seventy years, she made her home in Dracut, and was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. She was also a Life Member of the Holy Ghost Society, and a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Anthony’s Church. Her favorite pasttime was spending time with her family, especially when she went to Seabrook Beach with her nieces and nephews. She also had a passion for scratch tickets and chinese food.

Mrs. Cordeiro was an electronics worker for CBS in Lowell for ten years, and also worked as a seamstress for various Lowell area dress shops.

Her survivors include her brother, Frank Coimbra and his wife, Maureen (Murphy), of Lowell; and her many nieces and nephews including her nephew, Stephen Coimbra and his wife, Stacy, and their children, Jonathan, Brittany and Tyler with whom she resided, her nieces, Dr. Donna Coimbra and her husband, Frank Emanuele, of California, Danielle Coimbra and her son, Oliver Dirienzo, of North Conway, NH, Kimberly McGillicuddy and her husband, Daniel, and their children, Jared, Madison, and Jaxon, of Lowell, and Donna Whitney and her husband, Ed Whitney and their children, Justin, Stephanie, Nicole, and Zachary of Lowell.

She was also a sister of the late Tony Coimbra, the late Philomena Coimbra, and the late Mary Coimbra.
