LOWELL Ema L. (Lemos) Santos, 88, of Lowell, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at Heritage Nursing Care Center. She was the widow of the late Armando Santos.
Born November 17, 1922, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Caliseo and Bernadette Lemos, and was educated in that area. In 1969, she moved to the United States, settling in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality and the Holy Ghost Society. She worked at Grace Shoe Company until it closed, and retired from Highland Towel Company. Ema enjoyed cooking and time with her family as she was a very family orientated person.
Her survivors include her grandson, Derek M. Santos and his wife, Nicole (Nikki do dah) both of Lowell, her daughter in law, Collette E. Santos-Jolliffe, a great grandson, Derek M. Santos Jr. of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews, including her niece, Mary Jo Picanso of Debary, Florida.
She was also the mother of the late Fernando G. Santos who died January 23, 1989.
