Elizabeth Tavares

LOWELL       Elizabeth Tavares, 73, of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus surrounded by her loving family.

     A daughter of the late Americo Sousa and the late Jesuvina (Horta) Sousa, she was born June 7, 1944, in Lisbon, Portugal, and was raised and educated in Sao Gregorio, Portugal.  At the age of 16, she came to the United States with her family, settling in Lowell.

     A communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, she enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, and was a huge FarmVille enthusiast.  She was very family oriented and loved spending time with family and taking care of her sister.  

      She worked as a seamstress at Banks Manufacturing and Joan Fabrics for many years before her retirement.

     Her survivors include her daughter, Lizete M. Frobese and her husband, Eric Frobese, of Nashua; her grandchildren, Melissa M. Wilbur of Lowell, and Adin Lee Frobese of Nashua, NH; her sister Deonilde Silva of Lowell; her nieces and nephews Lisa Gallant, her husband Steve Gallant, Krystle Silva, and Devon Gallant; her great niece, Lennix Gomez; her cousin, Liseta Barajas; as well as her many friends.

     She was the former wife of Jose B. Tavares.

      YOU ARE INVITED TO HER VISITATION 9 UNTIL 11 A.M. ON SATURDAY, DEC. 23 AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. 

HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED SATURDAY AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL AT 12 NOON.  

BURIAL IN WESTLAWN  CEMETERY.
