Edward L. ‘Eddie’ Dupre
LOWELL Edward L. ‘Eddie’ Dupre, 62, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 6, 2016 at his home.
Eddie was born on August 18, 1953 in Lowell and was a son of the late Henry J. Dupre and the late Albertine M. (Tremblay) Dupre. He was raised in Lowell, where he attended the area schools including Lowell Trade School.
Mr. Dupre served with the United States Air Force for 6 years and was stationed in Japan and California.
Eddie resided in the Highlands section of Lowell and was a communicant of St. Margaret Parish. In his younger days, he was a very dedicated newspaper delivery man for the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald. His customers would always remark about how they would get their paper early in the morning. Eddie also worked for QSC in Billerica and Littleton, NH for several years, while continuing to deliver the Boston Herald. More recently, he was a newspaper delivery driver for the Northeast News. He was very dedicated to anything he applied himself to and would always be willing to lend anyone a helping hand.
Eddie is survived by his three sisters and their spouses, Andrea Laplante and her husband, Robert of Dracut, Estelle Wade and her husband, Stephen of Lowell, and Dolores Golas and her husband, Gary of Lowell; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
He was also the brother of the late Roger Dupre who passed away in 2002.

ON WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2016, YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 2 UNTIL 6 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, MA 978-458-6816. ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2016, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 9 A.M. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. MARGARET PARISH, 374 STEVENS STREET, LOWELL, AT 10 A.M.. A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL AT ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY IN CHELMSFORD. MEMORIAL DONATIONS IN HIS NAME MAY BE MADE TO THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION, 300 5TH AVE, SUITE 6, WALTHAM, MA 02451-8750.
