Dorothy Helene ‘Dottie’ (Lynch) McQuade

Dedicated Mother and Grandmother

LOWELL        Dorothy Helene ‘Dottie’ (Lynch) McQuade, 84, passed away Monday, January 16, 2018 at Winchester Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was the widow of the late John V. McQuade with whom she shared 15 years before he passed away in 1973.

She was born in Lowell on February 7, 1933 and was a daughter of the late Leo A. Lynch and the late Grace M. (Kennedy) Lynch. She was raised in Lowell and attended the area schools. After her husband passed away, she attended Castle Junior College.

While living in Lowell was a communicant of St. Margaret Parish. She later moved to Nashua, where her husband owned a pharmacy, to raise her family. She was employed as a Customer Service Representative at the former Nynex for 25 years before her retirement and later worked at Macy’s Makeup counter with Elizabeth Arden for many years. She was a past President of the Nashua Garden Club and was an avid gardener. Dottie loved to travel with her friends, from trips to Maine for tea or lunch to trips to Europe, she was always very active and had a warm spirit and zest for life.

Although she had many passions throughout her life, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren brought her the most happiness. She is survived by her five children, John V. McQuade and his wife, Linda of Dunstable, Francene Marie McQuade-Heard of Portsmouth, NH, Noreen Marie McQuade and her husband, Chris of Needham, Kathleen Marie McQuade-Ellmore and her husband, Chris of Lexington, and Colleen Marie McQuade-Gioffre and her husband, Chris of Holliston. She is also survived by her ten beloved grandchildren, Sam, Joe, Madeline, Logan, Isabella, Liam, Lillian, Ava, Melanie, and Justin; and her siblings, Leo A. Lynch and his wife, Burke of Rockford, IL, and Mary P. Lynch of Chelmsford; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Leo and Grace, she was predeceased by her sister, the late Joan (Lynch) Renk.

           YOU ARE INVITED TO HER CALLING HOURS FROM 1 UNTIL 5 P.M. ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 21, 2018 AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, MA 978-458-6816.

ON MONDAY MORNING, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 9 A.M. FOLLOWED BY HER FUNERAL MASS MONDAY AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS STREET, LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. A PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL AT ST. PATRICK CEMETERY IN LOWELL.
