Dennis J. Duarte

CHELMSFORD Dennis J. Duarte, 74, of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 25, 2016, at his home.

A son of the late John G. and the late Ethel G. (Vieira) Duarte, he was born July 15, 1942, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in Chelmsford, graduating from Chelmsford High School, Class of 1961. He then attended Lowell Technological Institute, attaining a Bachelors Degree in Electronics Engineering.

For the past ten years, he made his home in Lowell, and had worked as an electronics engineer for most of his life, retiring as the Director of ECRM Electronics in 1998.
In addition to spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandson, he enjoyed spending time with his friends at Owen and Ollies in Dracut. He was also an avid sports fan of the local Boston Teams, especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. In addition, he enjoyed horseracing and spending time at Rockingham Race Track. Stock market speculation was also a hobby of his. And as his family and friends knew, you could always find him in his blue row boat relaxing for hours as he rowed around Lake Mascuppic.

He is survived by his son, John H. Duarte and his wife, Cheryl, of Tyngsboro; his daughters, Sharyl Natsios and her husband, Charles, of Dracut, Joelle A. Douglas and her husband, Glenn, of Londonderry, NH, and Tylene L. Edmunds and her husband, Albert, of Manchester, NH; his grandchildren, John Duarte, Steven Duarte, Jessica Aldrich, Michael Natsios, Alexander Natsios, Mackenzie Douglas, Taylor Douglas, Cassidy Douglas, Tevin Edmunds, Leighton Edmunds, and Madden Edmunds; his great grandson, Aiden Aldrich; his brother, Bradford Duarte and his wife, Lourdes, of the Philippines; his sister, Goldie Gizzi and her husband, Anthony, of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the Godfather of the late Gary A. Duarte.
