David M. Lawrence

BILLERICA David M. Lawrence, 67, of Billerica, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Lahey Clinic Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of Barbara (Brooks) Lawrence, with whom he would have celebrated their Forty Sixth Wedding Anniversary this coming June 6.

A son of the late James and the late Elizabeth (Taylor) Lawrence, he was born in Greece, New York, graduating from John Marshall High School in Greece, New York. He then attended the University of Lowell, the former Lowell Technological Institute, then graduated from Northeastern University.
He made his home in Billerica for the past forty years. He worked as a self employed engineer and consultant for thirty years.

David was an avid gardener and horticulturalist and had an extensive raised bed garden. As a machinist, he designed his own gardening equipment and would donate food from his harvests to his neighbors and friends. He was also an amateur genealogist.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by a son, Brooks M. Lawrence of New York, NY; a brother, Robert J. Lawrence of Rochester, NY; a sister in law, Mary Jane Pearson and her husband, David Pearson of Springfield, VA ; a brother in law, James Brooks of Tewksbury; and many nieces and nephews including Sarah Pearson, David Pearson Jr., Jennifer Pearson and Kathleen Pearson Jenkins; and a newborn great nephew, Brennan Jenkins.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MAY 13. ON FRIDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 10 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
