Mary Correa
LOWELL Mary (Canelas) Correa,of Lowell, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer, Jan. 4, at D'Youville Senior Health Care Center. She was the wife of retired Lowell Police Detective, Anthony Correa.
Born in Woburn, she was a daughter of the late Ventura and the late Mary (Silva) Canelas, and was educated in the Wilmington area.
Mrs. Correa held membership in The Lowell Senior Center and the SAGE Organization. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening, bingo and was an avid fan of The Boston Red Sox. Most of all, she cherished time spent with family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She resided in Belvidere, and was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She was employed as an Inspector with Honeywell in Lowell and Lawrence for over 20 years before her retirement.
Besides her husband, Anthony, she is survived by a daughter, Brenda Park and her husband, Gary, of Tyngsboro; two sons, Kevin Correa and his wife, Cathy, of Pelham, NH, and Mark Correa and his wife, Zirlene, of Lowell; six grandchildren Christopher Correa of MI, Rabecca Correa of Pelham, NH, Andrea and Ashley Park of Tyngsboro, Kimberly Correa and Kristen Correa of Lowell; two sisters, Alice Motschman of Pelham, NH, Noreen Rowe and her husband Robert of Acton, four brothers, Dennis Canelas of Rochester, NH, Thomas Canelas of Chelmsford, Walter Canelas and his wife, Ruth, of Pelham, and Frank Canelas and his wife, Catherine, of Tewksbury; two brothers in law, Daniel Correa of Lowell, Edward Correa of Lowell, and a sister in law Georgia Visocchi of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister in law of the late Mary Canelas who passed away January 1, 2008, Raymond Motschman, Muriel Correa, Constance Correa, and Gus Visocchi.
