Catherine Ann Convery

"Beloved Matriarch of Lowell's Convery Family"

LOWELL Catherine Ann (Bell) Convery, 95, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. For over forty five years she was the wife of Frederick J. Convery who passed away in 1984.
A daughter of the late Herbert and the late Catherine A. (Ross) Bell, she was born August 12, 1916, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools.

Catherine made her home in Lowell's Highlands neighborhood, and was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. As the wonderful mother of twelve, she loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed dancing and watching Television, especially The Golden Girls, All in The Family, and the Honeymooners. She also enjoyed all music, including Roy Orbison and especially Patsy Cline.
Mrs. Convery worked most of her life as a fancy stitcher for various local shoe shops and at the Mills of Lowell.

She is survived by her children, Joseph F. Convery and his wife, Kristen, of San Diego, CA, Catherine A. Bogush and her husband, Edward, of Pelham, NH, Phyllis E. Gangi and her husband, Thomas, of Lowell, Virginia J. Maguire of Lowell, James M. Convery and his wife, Bruni, of Plaistow, NH, Joyce C. Maguire and her husband, Richard, of Lowell, Martin J. Convery and his wife, Judith, of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert R. Convery and his wife, Wendy, of Hudson, NH, June M. Beland and her husband, Donald, of Lowell, Barbara E. Convery, of Lowell, and David T. Convery of Lowell; forty nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; her sister, Dorothy McGrath of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews including Faye DeLaurie of Manchester, NH, who was very special to Catherine.

She was also the mother of the late Frederick H. Convery who passed away in 1994 and mother in law of the late Donald Maguire. She was also the sister of the late Frederick Bell, Herbert Bell, Robert Bell, Mary Ellen Knox, Elizabeth Rouleau and Lila Whalen.
