Barbara Ann DeLuca

TYNGSBORO Barbara Ann (McGadden) DeLuca, 74, of Tyngsboro, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at home after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Louis ‘Barry’ DeLuca.

A daughter of the late Helena ‘Doe’ Phillips who passed away November 2009 and the late Joseph Phillips, she was born October 16, 1935, in Methuen and was raised and educated in Lowell.
Previously making her home in Franklin, she had resided in Tyngsboro since June. She had held a management position with Sears for many years throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her friends to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, and also enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

Barbara was currently serving as the State Commander of the Disabled American Veterans’ Auxilliary Department of Massachusetts, having been elected in June 2009 after having served the Department in both the Junior Vice Commander and the Senior Vice Commander Chairs. Since 2000, she was a Life Member of Unit 56, Disabled American Veterans’ Auxiliary where she served as Unit Commander for three years after having served in many other offices. Barbara will be greatly missed by the Disabled Veterans she so proudly devoted her time and dedicated her service to for so many years.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Ciesluk and her husband, John, of Berlin, Susan Siopes and her husband, William, of Tyngsboro, and Cynthia Sorenson and her husband, Mark, of Bolton; nine grandchildren, Heidi Looney and her husband, Rick, of Lowell, Kimberly Bobola of Lowell, Heather Cyr and her husband, Gene, of Berlin, Derek Bobola and his wife, Tracy, of Nashua, William X. Siopes, Jr., and his fiancee, Melissa Charbonneau, of Ayer, Matthew Siopes of Lowell, Elizabeth Siopes of Tyngsboro, Jennifer Boucher and her husband, Corey, of Northboro, and Kathleen Sorenson of Bolton; six great grandchildren Kevin Cyr, Taylor Rose Cyr, Ryan Cyr, Haley Looney, Ricky Looney, and Dylan Bobola; her sister, Donna Zuben and her husband, William, of Florida and her brother-in-law Roger Chateauneuf, of South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Donald W. 'Mac' McGadden who passed away in 1986, and sister of the late Jacqueline Chateauneuf who passed away in August.
