Annette M. Desmarais

LOWELL      Annette M. (Elliott) Desmarais, 75, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Tuesday, July 24, 20112, at her home after a long illness. She was the widow of the late James F. Desmarais who passed away in 1996.

A daughter of the late George T. Elliott and the late Jeannette A. (St. George) Elliott, she was born April 25, 1937, in Lowell, and educated in the Lowell Schools.

Mrs. Desmarais worked for four years as a legal secretary for Judge Cornelious Kiernan before freelancing as an accountant and tax preparer for more than thirty six before her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Girl Scouts of America, the American/Canadian Geological Society, and the American/French Geological Society. Her favorite pasttime was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Joseph J. Desmarais and his wife, Jacquelyn, of Utah, George P. Desmarais of Dracut, Linda A. Bannister and her husband, William, of Chelmsford, and Doris D. Lamarche and her husband, Roger, of Lowell; her grandchildren, Roger, Laura, James, Ethan, Aaron, David, and Kelly; her great grandchildren, Isaiah and Luke; her brothers, Paul Elliott and Chester Elliott of Lowell, and Frank Elliott and his wife, Linda, of Dracut; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also a sister of the late Robert Elliott, the late Theresa Hennian, and the late Dorothy Bettencourt, and granddaughter of the late Marieanna F. Noel Gregoire.
