Alice E. Ritchotte
LOWELL Alice E. (Veiga) Ritchotte, 84, of Lowell, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus, after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Edward H. Ritchotte whom she married November 29, 1953 after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
A daughter of the late Louis E. and the late Mary E. (Mendonca) Veiga, she was born February 6, 1930, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools.
She made her home in Lowell, and was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony’s Church where as a young woman, she had taught religious education classes, and later where she helped with activities of the C.Y.O..
She worked as a doffer in the area Mills and also worked for Lowell Covered Rubber Thread, Honeywell in Lowell, and Honeywell/Bull in Lawrence until her retirement in 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle M. Ritchotte of Lowell; many nieces and nephews, including her nephews, Robert Veiga and his wife, Jane, of Concord, NH, and Tory Veiga and his wife, Pamela, of Hollis, NH; and grand nieces and grand nephews including Brent, Justin, Kristin, Lindsey, Carly, and Michael Veiga; and her ‘Lunch Bunch’, Jo-Ann Cincotta, Ann Marie Monteiro, and Miriam Buckley.
She was also a sister of the late Rosemary E. Veiga and the late John Veiga, and predeceased by her 'Lunch Bunch' nieces Mary Ellen Warship, Jeanne Reynolds, and Ruth Ann Reynolds.
